Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his first trophy for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult season, winning just one match at the big events and undergoing a setback at the American major.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Presently training with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.

This marks his initial championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since that period of 2023.

Success also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one different events.

"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional the champion.

"This victory is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted commentators to doubt if his ability to compete at the highest level was over.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to advance forward and perform assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

The champion came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult opponent, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

The pair exchanged break points in the following set before Moutet, striving for his maiden professional title, took control to create a decider.

He saved four early-game break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched victory with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
