I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
