Area Police
Roughly 50 vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were defaced, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.
The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a swastika, they stated.
Law enforcement then found many other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement say initial examinations indicate the fluid was likely human blood.
"At present there remains no clue as to its source; officials are not yet cognizant of any harm in connection with the event," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have requested to the residents for details.
A senior representative stated the vandalism made him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.
"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he posted on online, referring to the killing of nine victims by a shooter aiming at people of immigrant origin in five years prior.
